As what I have understood, Material self is all of the physical elements that reflect who you are. This includes possessions, car, home, body, clothes. The basic components of material self includes the body. All the things that you can see with me can totally contribute to my so called material self.
We cannot deny the fact that what we have can represent our social status in this world full of judgment. The material possession of an individual is anything that range from the basic essential necessities in life to the extravagant which means that he/she thinks that wants are better rather than needs. Always remember that material things won’t lead you to happiness but investing your time to those people who surround you and make memorable experiences will do for no man is an island.
MATERIALISM is known as more likely to be an individual characteristic of a person while CONSUMERISM refers to the overall characterization of the mode of buying in a modern society. A consumer don’t have to be materialist and luckily most of them are not. But always bear in your mind that a materialist person will be a consumer, indeed passionate consumer.
Overall, one must be responsible enough when buying something. We should be able enough to budget our money and always think twice that we should prioritize our needs in life rather than our wants for here in the Philippines, I can totally say that Train Law affects all of us no matter how poor or rich a certain individual is.
